Florida Lotto

Florida Lotto is the biggest draw game in the state, with jackpots starting at $1 million and often rising to over $20 million. Non-jackpot prizes can be multiplied by up to 10 times, and you can add Double Play and EZmatch for even more ways to win serious cash. Tickets cost just $2 per play for the basic game, with two chances to win every week – draws take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:15 PM EST. Pick up your tickets before sales close at 10:40 pm on draw nights.

How to Play

All you need to do to play Lotto is pick six numbers from 1 to 53. For an even faster play, select Quick Pick and the lottery computer will randomly choose your numbers.

Love your numbers? Advance Play is the easiest way to play the same lucky digits for multiple draws.

All tickets also include a multiplier number that boosts any prizes below the jackpot by two, three, four, five, or even 10 times.

Lotto has two awesome options you can add to your ticket. It only costs $1 per play, per add-on:

  • Double Play has an extra draw where you could win up to $250,000 in cash using the same numbers you chose for Lotto. The Double Play draw is held just after the main Lotto draw. Visit the Double Play page to learn more.
  • EZmatch offers on-the-spot wins of up to $500 in cash prizes. If you add this option, a separate ticket will print with your EZmatch numbers.

After the draw, check your ticket to see if you’ve won a prize! Win the jackpot by matching all six numbers drawn. Winners can choose to receive the advertised jackpot amount as 30 yearly annuity payments, or take a smaller lump sum cash option. To receive the cash option, the winner is required to redeem their prize within 60 days of the draw – otherwise, the claim period is 180 days. All prizes below the jackpot are fixed amounts.

About Florida Powerball

This is a game that is played in a number of other states and as with other games that are offered by the Florida Lottery, the Florida Powerball profits are transferred to the Trust Fund to help benefit the state’s education.

It costs $2 to play the Florida Powerball but if you play the Power Play it is $3 per play. The jackpots in this game can get pretty steep and the record highest jackpot was $587.5 million and this was shared by two people. One who lived in Missouri and the other person lived in Arizona. This was won on November 28, 2012.

As far as setting the jackpot for the Florida Powerball, the MUSL sets the advertised jackpot. The jackpots get calculated based on the sales for the drawing, any funds that may have rolled over from a previous drawing, as well as current interest rates for investments long-term. For every $2 that is spent on a ticket, about 32% is allocated to the prize pool.

As far as Power Play, this is an additional feature that is added on to the Florida Powerball game and offers players the chance to win as much as $2 million. When a ticket is purchased, you can add another $1 to play the Power Play and this allows you a chance to win as much as 4 times the non-jackpot prize. If you can match 5 numbers, that is $2 million!
